Choose Which Ad Topics You See Less Of on Facebook
Meta is committed to providing you with a personalized and relevant ad experience. You can specify that you'd like to see fewer ads about particular subjects, such as alcohol, parenting, pets, or social issues, elections, or politics. (Note that the social issues, elections, or politics topic preference isn't available in every country.)
This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to adjust your ad topic preferences.
Method 1: Adjusting Ad Topics Through Accounts Centre (If Available)
Not all users have access to the Accounts Centre setting at this time. If these steps don't work for you, please refer to Method 2. To check if you have access:
Navigate to Settings:
Click on your profile picture in the top right corner of Facebook.
Select "Settings & privacy," then click "Settings."
Access Accounts Centre: Click "Accounts Centre" in the left-hand menu.
Go to Ad Preferences: Within Accounts Centre, click "Ad preferences."
Customize Ads: Click the "Customise ads" tab.
Access Ad Topics: Next to "Ad topics," click "See all."
Manage Your Ad Topics:
To see less of a topic: Search for the topic you wish to see fewer ads about. Then, select "See less."
The selected topic will now appear under "Your ad topic choices."
To revert a preference: At any time, you can change your preference by selecting the topic and choosing "No preference."
Review Topics Based On Your Activity:
You can also browse topics that you were added to based on your activity under Ad topics advertisers can use to reach you.
Click or tap View and manage topics and choose to see less of the ones you aren't interested in.
Note:If you've linked your Facebook and Instagram accounts, your ad topic selections will automatically apply to both platforms. If your accounts are unlinked, you will need to update your ad topic preferences for the ads you see on Instagram separately.
If you cannot access Accounts Centre, try updating your app or visiting accountscenter.facebook.com in your web browser.

Important Information About Ad Topic Preferences:
Linked Accounts: If you add accounts to the same Accounts Centre (for example, your Facebook and Instagram accounts), we'll adjust this setting to match across your accounts. For ad topics that you've selected to see fewer of, we've applied that preference to all accounts in the same Accounts Centre.
Reduced, But Not Eliminated: Choosing to see less of an ad topic will reduce the number of ads you see about that topic, but you may still encounter some ads related to it. If you do, use the "hide ad" feature, and we'll use your feedback to improve ad relevance.
Teenage Accounts: Please note that until you turn 18 years old (20 in Thailand and 21 in Indonesia), certain topics will automatically be set to Show less ads about this topic and you won't be able to change them.
Ad Policies Still Apply: All advertisers must adhere to Meta's ad policies. Ads that promote or reference restricted content categories must comply with all applicable local laws, industry codes, and targeting guidelines.
